Her Story

From a simple question
to a growing movement.

Aarohi Jain founded StirForChange with a question that wouldn't leave her alone: "Why does so much good food get thrown away when so many people are hungry?" That question became a mission — and the mission became an organization.

Growing up in a family with multiple food industries, Aarohi Jain noticed how much untouched food goes to waste. She knew people struggled with putting meals on the table. Something had to change, and she decided to be the one to change it. By acting on this, she founded “StirForChange.”

StirForChange is a teen-based nonprofit that prepares and partners with local restaurants to provide food, then packs it with care and delivers it to people in need, including those experiencing homelessness. We collect leftovers of unused food from restaurants that would otherwise go to waste, turning it into meals for people who need it most.

The Mission

We reach out to local businesses willing to donate food or supplies — fresh, properly stored, or unopened food ONLY — organize volunteers to pack everything into meal boxes, and distribute them to homeless individuals and families in need.
